Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 6, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Temp Mail extension for Google Chrome (“Temp Mail”, “the extension”) handles information. Temp Mail is made by Never Zero Lab SL (“we”, “us”, “our”).
In short
- Temp Mail has no account and no advertising, and it does not track the websites you visit.
- We never receive your addresses, your emails or your codes. We run no mail server for this extension.
- We only count three anonymous actions (an address was created, an email arrived, a code was copied) with Google Analytics. You can switch this off in Settings.
- Your temporary addresses, their emails and your settings are stored only in your browser.
- To create an address and receive emails, the extension talks directly to a public temporary email service: mail.tm or, as a backup, Guerrilla Mail.
- The extension does not read the websites you visit.
What Temp Mail stores on your device
Temp Mail saves the following in Chrome’s extension storage on your computer (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device except as described in the sections below.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your temporary email addresses (up to 20), the password Temp Mail generated for each mail.tm address and the session token of the mail service | So you can keep using an address and switch back to an earlier one |
| The list of emails received by your active addresses (sender, subject, short preview, time, detected verification code) | To show your inbox instantly and to count unread emails on the toolbar icon |
| Settings: language, theme, notifications on/off, “always show images”, usage statistics on/off | To remember your choices |
| A random installation ID and the start time of the current session | For the anonymous usage statistics described below |
| Time of your last use and of the last mail check | To check for new emails more often right after you used an address |
The full content of an email is downloaded from the mail service only when you open it and is not stored. When you delete an address, Temp Mail deletes it from your browser and asks the mail service to delete it too. Uninstalling the extension removes everything Temp Mail stored.
Temporary email services
Temp Mail does not run its own mail server. It connects your browser directly to one of these services:
- mail.tm (main service). Temp Mail creates a mailbox there with your address and a random password, logs in to read your emails and to receive live updates, and deletes the mailbox when you delete the address. The inbox is private: only someone with the password can read it. Privacy policy: mail.tm/en/privacy.
- Guerrilla Mail (backup, and when you choose one of its domains). These inboxes are public: anyone who enters the same name can read them, and emails are deleted after one hour. Temp Mail shows this warning before you choose such an address. Website: guerrillamail.com.
Like any website, these services receive your IP address and the technical details of each request, and they receive the emails that other people send to your temporary address. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies, not this one. Temp Mail does not send them your name, your real email address or any other personal information.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand whether Temp Mail is useful, the extension sends us three kinds of events through Google Analytics 4 (Measurement Protocol): address_created when a new temporary address is created, email_received when a new email arrives, and code_copied when you copy a verification code.
Each event contains only its name, a random installation ID generated by the extension (not linked to your Google account or to any personal information), a session number and a fixed engagement time. It never contains your temporary addresses, the content or senders of your emails, the codes, or anything about the websites you visit. Google receives your IP address with each request and processes it under the Google Privacy Policy; we see only aggregated reports.
You can turn this off at any time: open Temp Mail → Settings → Anonymous usage statistics. When it is off, nothing is sent.
Websites you visit
Temp Mail does not read, collect or send the content of web pages. It has no access to pages by default. Only when you ask it to – by clicking Fill in in the extension window, choosing Insert temp email address in the right-click menu, or pressing the keyboard shortcut – Chrome gives it one-time access to the current tab, and Temp Mail types your temporary address into the email field. To find that field it only checks which input fields are email fields.
This website
The pages of temp-mail.extensions-neverzerolab.com, including the page that opens once after you install Temp Mail, use no cookies and no advertising. To show the right instructions, that page asks the Temp Mail extension in your browser whether its icon is pinned to the toolbar; the answer is a simple yes or no and stays in your browser. The page picks its language from your browser settings.
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the pages. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or other storage on your device and does not follow you across websites. We see only totals: page views, which pages were opened, the referring website, the country and the type of browser and device.
Emails you receive
- Emails are shown in an isolated frame where scripts and forms cannot run.
- Remote images are blocked until you click Show images (or turn on “Always show images”), because loading them can tell the sender that you opened the email.
- Temp Mail looks for verification codes and confirmation links inside the email on your device so you can copy or open them with one click. This happens locally; nothing is sent to us.
- Desktop notifications are off by default. If you turn them on, Chrome asks for your permission, and notifications are created locally.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share any information.
- We do not use or transfer information for advertising, for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not use remote code: all of the extension’s code is included in the package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
Use responsibly
Temporary addresses are meant for sign-ups, trials, downloads and one-time verifications. Do not use them for banking, important accounts or anything you may need to recover later: a deleted or expired address cannot be restored, and public inboxes can be read by others.
Children
Temp Mail is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The extension does not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If the extension’s data practices change, we will update this page and the date above before the new version is published in the Chrome Web Store.
